Leaving the children's home - and then what?

For many of our young people, leaving the children's home is a turning point marked by both pride and great uncertainty. After years in a protected community, they are faced with the question: What next?

For many, starting a career straight away is a solid and appropriate path to independence. For some, however, their potential extends far beyond this, and it would be a great loss to leave these talents untapped – for society and, of course, for the young people themselves. Education is the most powerful lever for breaking the cycle of poverty in the long term. However, higher education is actually unaffordable for children in care, as they have no family support.

But WIDE does not leave the young people alone, and Namaste Welfare provides them with financial assistance.

WIDE takes care of showing graduates the way to a career, qualified training, or a university degree. Three of the most recent graduates are now studying IT and pharmacy. For Velan, Arunachalla, and Iyappan, their studies are a ticket to a future in which they can later take on responsibility in their society. Thanks to our donors, we can support them with tuition fees, rent, and meals.
