Over the past few days, Tashi from Ashraya has been looking for ways to bring aid to the people who have fallen victim to the floods. He now wants to bring food, blankets and other emergency aid to the worst-affected region of Kavre (four hours' drive east of the capital Kathmandu). Specifically, this involves two small villages with a total of 80 families in the rural community of Roshi on the river of the same name. In the community, 13 people have been killed, houses have been damaged or destroyed and fields growing rice, maize, potatoes, vegetables and grain have been devastated. Government aid fails to materialise or takes too long to arrive. NGO aid is mostly available in and around Kathmandu, but it hardly reaches the more remote areas.

If you would like to help alleviate the hardship in this special situation, we would be very happy to receive donations for the purpose of ‘Ashraya / Emergency Relief’.
